Lucy
Hawkes - Counselling
I have a Diploma
in Counselling from the Gestalt Centre, London, and am a Member of the British
Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have always had an interest
in the different ways people live and make sense of the world, and before training
in counselling I studied Archaeology and Anthropology (BA hons Cantab) and Southeast
Asian Archaeology and Art History (MA).
I believe that counselling can support people to develop more awareness of themselves,
to explore and shed old patterns that are no longer helpful, and to discover
more effective and satisfying approaches to life.
I have experience of working with a wide range of people and issues, including
depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, bullying, bereavement, and issues around
anger and conflict. I am particularly interested in supporting people to find
self-acceptance and meaning in their lives.
I approach counselling as a journey in which I walk by your side while you find
your way. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to
deepen your awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and relationships, gain more
understanding of yourself and your life, and hopefully find more choices and
explore new ways of being with yourself and others.
