Body Part Mythology
with Lian Wilson

Thursdays, 7:30-9:30pm, 2nd October – 4th December
(9 week Tamalpa series)

In each one of us lives a story, a palette of images and experiences stored in our muscles and bones, organs and body parts. This 9 week series of classes will engage participants in creative dialogues with their personal stories, focusing on the experience and expression of the body. Using the Tamalpa Life/art process each week participants will explore a different body part, through movement improvisations, drawing and poetic explorations, participants will tap into a stream of symbolic and metaphoric images to explore current life themes and questions in an open and imaginative process.

The body is explored on the physical, emotional and mental/imaginal levels and is understood as the template for our entire life experience. This approach allows new experiences and perspectives to emerge and invites positive change and action in relationship with our selves and others.

The series culminates with the creation of a self-portrait, forming the basis for a final performance, which symbolizes a new vision of self to bring into one's daily life.

Suitable for anyone wanting to gain a deeper understanding of the wisdom of their own body, as a catalyst for their individual growth and wellbeing.
