Traditional Thai Massage
For
centuries Thai massage has treated the mental, physical and
emotional imbalances of the body which lead to dis-eases. It
is an ancient form of general manipulation therapy and therapeutic
massage which was handed down orally and performed in the temples
and it is still today part of the medical practice.
The session
Thai Massage is an ancient art which addresses the ills of
present day society. It is a form of Passive Yoga where you
get the flexibility, inner organ massage, blood oxygenation
and deep relaxation having the movements done to you. Working
on the floor with the client clothed a full session includes
four different positions: lying on the back, on the sides,
on the stomach, sitting.
Deep pressure is applied on points and Energy Lines close to
the Ayurvedic Nadis and Chinese Meridians; synchronized stretching
movements are performed to achieve flexibility, the opening
of joints and balancing of the muscles. The pressure on feet
and legs is sedating, while a slight degree of “good” pain
might be felt where blockages are held, and at the end of a
session both client and practitioner should feel relaxed and
energized.
Other benefits include improve vitality and a sense of inner
peace and quiet mind.
