This is a 6-week exploration into Body Awareness, celebrating the beautiful Anusara
yoga system and spiced with dance inspired movement.
Cultivate an attitude of awareness and connection, on and off your mat. Dive
deeper into your yoga practice; increase sensitivity, challenge boundaries and
duet with Body and Spirit.
Anusara Yoga™ is yoga of the heart! The elegance, clarity and intelligence
of the Anusara system is forever revealing new layers of understanding. With
its spirals, loops, soaring lines, attitude, breath, fullness, depth, focus and
intension there is always somewhere to dance and someone to dance with.
Classes will be asana based and students will be invited to flow into and out
of dance inspired movement finding physical expression for their spirit within
an acoustic/musical environment.
Not suitable for beginners.
Wk 1. Breath – The source of all movement. The
dance of life. The passage of time. Softening. Opening to Grace.
Wk 2. Shape / Form – Awareness of our bodies in space. The body as object,
Parts that make up the Whole. Stillness. Alignment.
Wk 3. Weight – The way we’re made. The body as place. Knowing our
impact.
Wk 4. Suspension & Balance – The falling rise. Lines of energy, spirals.
Silence. Orientation in space.
Wk 5. Self Expression - Extending from the Heart. The body as subject.
Wk 6. Playtime - Putting it all together! Indulging the imagination. Weaving
what’s gone before into something new. Body as subject. Self Expression.
